IMPORTANT: Read all instructions carefully before installing your XHO-B30 (K-Series LED Mounting Brackets).
- Reef Brite has taken great care to ensure our K-Series LED Mounting Brackets install seamlessly to your fixture or lighting system. However, due to variations in tank sizes, glass thicknesses, and older-style mounts, it is important that you check your tank manufacturer’s specifications and confirm that your mount is compatible and can safely support the additional weight before installing.
- If you are unsure about the mounting or attachment of the K-Series system, we recommend contacting a licensed professional to avoid serious personal injury or property damage.
- Reef Brite will not be responsible for any damages resulting from improperly mounted or installed kits.
- ELECTRICAL SAFETY NOTE: Ensure all power supplies, plugs, and outlets are located away from any area where water may splash or spill. Never place power strips on the floor or anywhere water may come in contact with them, as this poses a serious risk of fire or electric shock.

Getting Started
- Ensure your light fixture(s) is/are completely unplugged from the electrical outlet and removed from the aquarium before starting.
- If your fixtures were recently in use, allow them to cool completely. LEDs can get hot during operation and can cause personal injury or damage surfaces if proper care in handling is not taken.
- Once cool, place fixture on a secure table or work surface
General Installation Tips:
- Hand-thread first: Always carefully thread all screws by hand first to prevent cross-threading.
- Do not overtighten: Tighten firmly, but do not use excessive force.
Installation: RMS and HMS Mounts
Hardware required - locate these in your K-Series LED Mounting Bracket Kit before starting:
For EcoTech Radion XR Series fixtures: |
4x M5 x 12mm Long Silver Flat Head Screws |
For AI Hydra HD Series fixtures: |
2x M5 x 25mm Long Silver Flat Head Screws |
Do not attempt to use hardware not supplied with your kit, as damage to your fixture could result.
- Place the two K-Series LED Mounting Brackets (Figure 1) included with your kit underneath the RMS or HMS mount on your fixture, aligning the bracket holes with the threaded holes on your fixture.
- Using the provided hardware for your specific fixture (indicated above), secure the Brackets to your fixture through the RMS/HMS Mount. Thread all screws carefully by hand first to avoid cross-threading, and do not overtighten.

OPTIONAL - To install two Reef Brite XHO LED Fixtures (not included in XHO-B30 Kit):
- Use the screws provided on the ends of each XHO to secure them to the K-Series LED Mounting Bracket.
Refer to Figures 2 and 3 to see examples of completed installations. - Using a 2-Way Connector, plug in each of the two XHO LED Fixtures, making sure to insert the plugs until you feel them lock in place. Attach an In-Line Dimmer (optional) and LED Power Supply to the 2-Way Connector. Place the power supply in a safe location away from any contact with water.
- Carefully mount your setup, then plug the system into a GFCI outlet, ensuring a proper drip loop is employed on all electrical cords.

Installation: LED Cable Hanging Kit

Use only the hardware supplied with your K-Series LED Add-On Kit and Reef Brite LED Cable Hanging Kit (sold separately). Do not attempt to use hardware not supplied with your kits, as damage to your fixture could result.

- Locate the threaded holes on the top of your Radion XR Series or Hydra HD Series fixture. Place the two K-Series Mounting Brackets (Figure 1) included with your kit over the top of your fixture, aligning the bracket holes with the threaded holes on your fixture.
*Hydra HD Series: the posts from your Hanging Kit pass through the center hole on each bracket to attach the brackets to your fixture. The K-Series LED Mounting Brackets are designed so that these posts keep them securely in place. - Using the hardware supplied with your LED Cable Hanging Kit, attach the hanging kit and brackets to your fixture. Thread all screws carefully by hand first to avoid cross-threading, and do not overtighten.
